September 25, 2026 - 🌐 Web App (Browser Version) & 🔧 Backend: Invoicing and Subscription

Since the switch to Stripe in August, we have received a lot of feedback on invoices and checkout. A large part of it went live in September.

🆕 What's New

• Purchase order reference on the invoice: When paying by invoice, you can add your own reference, such as a cost center or PO number. It appears directly on the invoice.
• Manage invoice recipients yourself: Under Profile → Subscription → "Manage billing" you can see who receives the invoices and add more addresses, for example your treasurer.
• Payment method reminder: If no payment method has been added yet, we remind the owner by email. That way your subscription continues without interruption.

🛠️ Improvements

• Billing details are validated: Incomplete addresses or invoice fields are flagged clearly before checkout.
• Correct invoice: Address and service period on the invoice now match your subscription exactly.
• Canceled payment: Clearer feedback and correct return to the plan selection.

🐞 Fixes

• Limit message during the trial: Adding members wrongly triggered a limit warning.
• Duplicate events in series: Creating recurring events could produce individual duplicates.
• PDF files: Event PDFs and invoice attachments occasionally arrived corrupted.
• Event links in emails: Missing links are reliably generated again.

• Profile like in the web app: Your profile now shows all details and can be edited directly in the app.
• No internet: If the connection drops, the app now shows this everywhere.

• iPad: Views and spacing unified.
• My Events: Filter page reworked.
• Community page: Details view redesigned.
• Search: Responds faster.
• Empty pages: Helpful hints instead of blank screens.
• Share event: A shared event link takes you straight to the response page.

September 1, 2026 - 🍏 Apple iOS · Version 7.3.6

🆕 What's New

• Redesigned subscription area: The entire subscription section has been reworked. You can see at a glance which plan is active, how long it runs, and what happens next, including in dark mode.
• Invoice as a payment method: You can now settle your subscription by invoice instead of by card, in Switzerland with a QR invoice. All details are in the entry from August 25.
• Subscription notifications: You are now notified whenever something changes on your subscription. Tapping the notice takes you straight to the right place.
• Sign in with Google, Apple, and Facebook: These options are now also available when creating an account, not only when signing in.

🛠️ Improvements

• Subscription status always current: If something changes on your subscription, the view updates immediately without reloading the page.
• Create community: The flow via the round plus icon on the home screen has been reworked. The dialogs are clearer, the texts revised.
• Save only on changes: Under My Events, the Save button is now only active once you have actually changed something.
• Reliable notification counters: The number of unread notices and the icon in the bottom menu are now consistently correct.
• Links work everywhere: Links in descriptions and messages now behave the same across the app and can be opened directly.
• Haptic feedback: Selected actions now give the haptic feedback you know from iOS.

⚙️ Behind the Scenes

• Stability and polish: Numerous bug fixes, minor interface adjustments, and technical optimizations for a more stable app.

What you need to do: Update Gumb in the App Store to version 7.3.6. If automatic updates are enabled, this happens on its own.

August 25, 2026 – 🌐 Web App (Browser Version): New Payment Provider and Invoice as a Payment Method

We have switched our payment provider from PayPal to Stripe. The change brings you more payment methods and invoices you can find directly in your profile.

🆕 What This Means for You

• Your subscription continues unchanged - Same price, same term, same renewal date. The only thing that changes is how the payment is processed.
• Add your payment method again - As the owner of a community, you add your payment method once at Stripe. You can do this yourself at any time under Subscription.

Once that is done, we will end your old PayPal subscription. PayPal will send you a confirmation - there is nothing else you need to do.

🆕 What's New

• Payment by invoice - You can now settle your subscription by invoice instead of by card. Simply select "Invoice" at checkout.
• QR invoice for Switzerland - Invoices in Swiss francs come with a payment part and a QR code. Scan the code in your e-banking or banking app and the payment details are filled in for you.
• Invoice and receipt as PDF - You receive both documents by email. The receipt marked "Paid" is ready for your bookkeeping.
• Invoice overview in your profile - You can find all invoices at any time under Subscription. From there you can download and forward them.

🛠️ Improvements

• 30-day payment term - You have one month to settle the invoice. Your subscription is active from checkout, no matter when you pay.
• Multiple invoice recipients - You can specify who should receive the invoices. That way the invoice goes straight to your treasurer, even if the subscription runs under someone else's name.

August 24, 2026 – 📱 Android App · Version 2.0.94

🆕 What's New

• Redesigned subscription area: The entire subscription section has been reworked. You can see at a glance which plan is active, how long it runs, and what happens next.
• New guidance dialogs: When you start, switch, or renew a subscription, new clearly worded dialogs walk you through each step.

🛠️ Improvements

• Reworked sharing: Sharing content now works consistently and reliably everywhere in the app.
• Calmer look: Background colors and many small details have been adjusted. The app feels tidier and more consistent.

⚙️ Behind the Scenes

• Ready for the latest Android version: Gumb has been technically updated to Android 16. The app stays stable on new devices and meets Google Play's current requirements.
• Preparing new payment options: Part of today's changes belongs to our larger project around subscription billing - including the option to pay for Gumb by invoice. More on that soon. 🚀

What you need to do: Update Gumb in the Google Play Store to version 2.0.94. If automatic updates are enabled, this happens on its own.

July 27, 2026 – 🌐 Website gumb.app (Landing Page & Support Center)

🛠️ Improvements

• Faster loading times: gumb.app and the Support Center load noticeably faster - especially on mobile.
• Stronger security: We upgraded the website from Next.js 12 to Next.js 15. It now runs on the latest technical foundation and receives ongoing security updates again.
• Better display: Images, guides, and screenshots load cleaner - even on a slow connection.

What's next?

Over the coming weeks we'll renew gumb.app step by step - technically as well as visually: fresh design, revised content, new pages. It all happens in the background, you don't need to do anything. Web App, Android, and iOS are not affected.

July 14, 2026 – 📧 Email Feature (sending: Web App)

🛠️ Improvements

• Direct replies instead of no-reply: Many members were replying to the no-reply address — and those messages went nowhere. Fixed: Gumb emails now include a Reply-To header with the admin's address. When a member clicks Reply, their response goes straight to the sender.
• Updated notice banner: Every Gumb email now displays the sender's address and a "Reply directly" button — making it immediately clear how to reach the sender.
• Members nudged to use Gumb directly: The banner now reminds members to skip the email reply altogether — open Gumb, go to the Scheduler, and react or comment directly on the event. Faster for everyone, and less back-and-forth email for you as admin.

July 6, 2026 – 📱 Android App · Version 2.0.93

🐞 Improvements

• Password reset link now works reliably – Reset links sent by email now open correctly on Android. Previously, tapping the link in certain mail apps (e.g. GMX, Gmail) launched a restricted in-app browser that couldn't complete the Cognito authentication flow, leaving accounts stuck and showing "Something went wrong." Update to version 2.0.93 to resolve this.

June 29, 2026 – 🌐 Web App: PDF Export of an Appointment

🐞 Improvements

• Exporting an appointment as a PDF works again. In the scheduler, open an appointment’s menu and choose “Export as PDF” to download it. This had stopped working for a few weeks while we focused on other tasks – it’s now fixed and fully working again.

June 10, 2026 – 📧 Email Function (Temporary Disruption)

Over the past few days, Gumb's email function was temporarily affected – both manual email sending and the automated delivery of statistics exports were impacted.

The cause was an automated abuse attempt targeting the email system. We responded by activating additional protection measures, which fully resolved the issue today.

What this means for you:

• All email functions are now running fully and reliably again.
• No data loss – all statistics and content remain fully intact.

June 4 – 🌐 Web App (Browser version)

🛠️ Improvements

• Email Function 📧: Recipient Limit – The "Additional recipients (separate with comma)" field is now capped at 100 addresses. This improves deliverability and helps prevent emails from being flagged as spam.

June 3, 2026 – ⚠️ Service Disruption (approx. 5 hours)

On 3 June, Gumb was unavailable from approximately 18:20 to 23:30 CEST (16:20 to 21:30 UTC). Both the web app and mobile apps were affected.

The cause was an infrastructure-level issue. From around 22:30 CEST (20:30 UTC), access was gradually restored - by 23:30 CEST (21:30 UTC), the platform was fully back online. No data was lost - all content remains fully intact.

We have taken internal steps to further improve stability and prevent similar incidents in the future.

May 11, 2026 – 📱 Android App (Version 2.0.92)

🆕 What's New

• Apple Login – You can now sign in to Gumb using your Apple account.
• Matrix – The Matrix feature is now accessible from your phone. A direct link takes you to the web version, where you can easily manage your members.
• Profile Picture – More options are now available when uploading a profile picture: camera, gallery, and more.
• Email Check at Login – Before the login process starts, your email address is now validated right away — you'll immediately see if it's registered with Gumb.

🛠️ Improvements & Bug Fixes

• Stats – The statistics section has been redesigned with a cleaner UI and more filtering options.
• 1-Character Responses & Event Titles – Response options and event titles can now be created with just a single character — matching the web app and iOS.
• Scheduler: Your Row, Easy to Find – Your own row in the member scheduler is now more prominently highlighted so you can spot it at a glance.
• Links in Descriptions – Links inside event and other descriptions are now tappable — everywhere in the app.
• Autofill / Password Manager – When you fill in your credentials via Autofill, the login button now activates immediately.
• Error Messages – Errors are now shown clearly and immediately when you confirm an input — with helpful guidance on what to do next.
• Birthday – Fixed a bug where birthdays were displayed incorrectly in the profile.
• Participant Data on Event Changes – Removing participants from an event no longer affects the data of members who are still part of it.
• Default Responses – Events created with default response options are now working correctly and as expected.

• The overall My Events page has been redesigned — better layout with frames for improved readability.

• Member permission badges are now visible in the scheduler.

March 25, 2026 – 🌐 Web App (Browser version)

🆕 What's New

• Shorter Response Options & Event Types: Response options, event types, and tasks can now be created with just a single character - like "1", "A", or an emoji like "🏁". Previously, a minimum of 3 characters was required. 👉🏼 Android & iOS will follow with upcoming app updates.
• 💡 Tip: For better readability, we recommend short, clear labels with emojis - like "Yes ✅" instead of just "YES".

🛠️ Improvements & Bug Fixes

• Popups - Fixed a display issue where text was rendered outside the popup container.
• Import Events (Excel/CSV) - Special characters and umlauts (ä, ö, ü, etc.) now display correctly when importing events.
• "Forgot Password" Flow - Improved the experience for users who sign in exclusively via social login (Google or Facebook).

March 25, 2026 – 📱 Android App (Version 2.0.91)

🆕 What's New

• Free Text Fields in Your Profile: Two new optional fields (Free Text 1 & Free Text 2) are now available on Android - just like on iOS and the web app. Perfect for adding personal details like player numbers, ID numbers, or any other info that matters to your team.

🛠️ Improvements & Bug Fixes

• Google & Facebook Login - Social login has been reworked and is now running reliably again.
• Event Details: Correct Total Stats - Fixed a stats bug where the wrong count was sometimes displayed in the total statistics view.
• Event Types - Removed the "Response required" option. The screen is now cleaner and easier to use.
• Chat & Push: No More "New" Label - The "New" tag has been removed from push notifications and chat options. In its place, there's now a fresh, subtle badge animation in the chat.

February 10, 2026 – 📱 Android App (Version 2.0.89)

Social Login (Google & Facebook) - Fix / Workaround
The current Android version had an issue with Google and Facebook login. Today, we released a first update to restore login.

Status

• ✅ Update 1 is live (Feb 10): Google & Facebook login works again if Chrome is installed.
• ✅ Update 2 is live (Mar 11): Social login now works fully and without any limitations.

What you can do now

• Make sure Google Chrome is installed on your phone, then try logging in again.
• Or use the web app as a temporary workaround (mobile or desktop): Scheduler

February 10, 2026 – 🌐 Web App & Backend (Google Calendar)

We made technical improvements to the Google Calendar sync in Gumb.
Syncing is now more stable and often faster, even with many events.

Important:

• If your Google Calendar is currently syncing correctly, no action is needed.
• If events are missing, duplicated, or not updating, we recommend reconnecting once.

What to do:

1. Disconnect and reconnect Google Calendar

🔧 Apple Calendar Sync Improvements

We made technical adjustments and background updates related to the Apple Calendar synchronization.

Starting January 23, Apple will perform a resynchronization of all calendars connected to Gumb. Existing events will be refreshed to ensure a more stable and reliable sync going forward.

• You may temporarily see multiple updates for existing events in Apple Calendar.
• No action is required from users.

January 15, 2026 – 🟡 Short Service Disruption (~10 minutes)

A temporarily unavailable API caused login issues and limited functionality across the app.

The issue was resolved within approximately 10 minutes, and all services returned to normal operation.

We are currently investigating the root cause to prevent similar incidents in the future.

In case of longer outages, we have monitoring and safety measures in place and would promptly inform users via push notification and email.

January 14, 2026 – 🔧 Backend & Infrastructure Maintenance

We completed background maintenance to keep Gumb secure, stable, and fully supported long term.

What this means for you:

• Short, planned maintenance window
• Improved system stability and reliability
• No data loss
• All services are operating normally

All improvements run fully in the background.

🔧 Performance & Security Improvements

We’ve completed a backend and infrastructure update to further strengthen Gumb’s technical foundation.

November 28, 2025 – 🍏 Apple iOS (App Version: 7.3.1)

🐞 Improvements:

• Community Join Link Restored: We fixed an error that occurred on some Apple devices when clicking the community join link. New members can now send a join request without any issues.
• Additional Bug Fixes: We've also implemented numerous minor improvements and bug fixes to enhance app stability.

November 20, 2025 - 🌐 Web App (Browser Version)

🐞 Improvements:

• Multi-Year Event Export: We fixed an error that occurred when exporting the 'Schedule' statistics report over long periods (e.g., 5 years). Downloads are now available without issue.
• Automatic Language Detection: The correct user language is now reliably set upon first login (based on your browser language) - the issue with defaulting to English has been resolved.
• General Optimizations & Updates: We've updated several areas, including URLs in automated emails, the design of empty pages ('Empty States'), and the chat function. Plus, numerous backend technical updates were implemented for better performance.

September 16, 2025 - 🌐 Web App (Browser Version)

🐞 Improvements:

• Informative Placeholders

If your profile is new or a page is still empty, we now show helpful tips. These "placeholder texts" explain what to expect on that page and how to get started. For example, you might see: "When an admin adds you to events, you'll see them here." This helps prevent any confusion.

August 25, 2025 - ⚠️ Important: New Invitation Links

As of August 25, all Gumb community invitation links have been updated.

What changed? Every community now has a new link. Old links may no longer be valid or work as expected.

What do I need to do? As an admin, you should check all places where you've shared your community link (e.g., on your website or in chats) and replace it with the new one. Members don't need to do anything.

Where can I find the new link?

1. Open Community Settings (gear icon ⚙).
2. Go to the Members tab.
3. In the "Invite by Link" section, click "Copy Community Link."

If you manage multiple communities, you must check each link individually.

We've made numerous background improvements, technical updates, and minor bug fixes. Here are a few highlights:

🐞 Improvements:

• Simplified Event Responses
  Responding to events is now technically unified. This function was previously split across two different pages and has now been combined, which increases stability and reduces errors.
• Optional Messages are now Visible
  When an admin updates an event with an optional message, it is now displayed prominently in both the "Notifications" and "Schedule" sections.
• Improved Documents
  Uploading and downloading documents has been improved throughout the app.
• Design Optimizations
  We've polished the user interface in several areas, including "Notifications" and the event editing screens.
• Translations
  Translations have been improved across all 6 supported languages.
• Additional Technical Updates
  Numerous internal updates, such as SDK updates, ensure better overall performance.

🆕 New:

• 2 Custom Text Fields in Member Profile
  You (or your admin) can now add two custom text fields to your user profile. Easily include any information like your employee ID, player number, or social security number (Switzerland). The best part? This data will also be included in the "Attendance Control" statistics report, which is especially useful for Swiss Sports "J+S" managers! 🤗

🐞 Improvements:

• Design Polish
  We've refined the design in several areas. For instance, when creating a new community (team, department, club, etc.), you'll now find emojis for event types and response options. Of course, you can customize these emojis to make your planning more vibrant and easier for your members to read.

July 18, 2025 - 🌐 Web App (Browser Version)

🆕 New:

• Sort Community Order
  Are you part of multiple communities? You can now easily customize your personal community order using drag-and-drop. Simply move your communities (teams, organizations, clubs) up or down to arrange them exactly how you prefer.

🐞 Improvements:

• Language
  We've optimized the automatic detection of user language. When you create a new Gumb account, your country's language (based on your IP address) will now be automatically set. Alternatively, your internet browser's default language will be used. Within the app, you can still switch between the 6 supported languages at any time (English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, and Russian).
• Design
  We've made several minor interface improvements to the "Create Event" section, along with other technical optimizations.

July 1, 2025 - 🌐 Web App (Browser Version)

🐞 Fixes & Improvements

• Statistics Bug Fixed
  We've corrected the statistics display under "My Events" in your user profile.
• Deleting a Community
  The community deletion function has been revised. As an owner, you can now delete your community in "Community Settings - Other." You might need to wait 3–5 seconds or simply refresh the page.
• Removing/Adding Members to a Community
  We've fixed an error that sometimes occurred when admins removed a member from a community. A removed member's user account remains active, allowing them to continue participating in other communities. You can easily re-add them later using the Matrix feature or their email address under "Add User."
• "Attendance Control" Download
  We've fixed problems downloading the "Attendance Control" statistics report for data-heavy teams and communities.
• Translations in 6 Languages
  We've optimized, shortened, and refined the translations across all 6 supported languages: English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, and Russian. These improvements will also roll out to the mobile apps (Android & iOS) in the coming months.

🆕 Helpful Tooltips & Slicker Design

• We've added more info icons that now do an even better job of explaining what a feature does or what a button means. Just hover your mouse over them and a short, helpful tip will pop up! For instance, in the Schedule and Group Planner, you'll instantly see that a "white field" means a member won't see that specific event.
• We've also improved the design of these tips, and we'll be adding even more of these handy tooltips to the web version in the coming weeks!
• Plus, we've made some minor visual improvements to the user interface on various pages.

🐞 Improvements

• Firefox Fixes
  We improved some layout issues that only affected Firefox users. Everything should now display as expected.
• Email Mode 📧
  When selecting an event, the filter “Send notification when invitees respond with...” is now visible again - so you can better target who gets notified.
• Heads-up: Using a browser translator?
  Please disable it for Gumb. We offer 6 supported languages you can select in your profile settings.
  Browser-based translation tools often cause layout issues or strange wording. We're working to improve compatibility - but for best results, use Gumb's built-in language options.

🐞 Improvements

Optimized Email & Push Notifications

We fixed two issues:

• In some cases, senders didn’t receive a push copy, even when “Send me a copy” was enabled.
• After the recent chat update, selecting multiple recipients didn’t always work.

✅ Both bugs are now fixed.
Plus, we’ve improved background logic - and as a result:

• Admins now see all events
• Group leaders can view events from their team members

🆕 With the new Gumb Chat, you can now message members directly - 1:1 or in group chats.

All-in-one: Communication + Scheduling.
